The phenology of birds at La Cassinazza

After several years of regular surveys, we are able to define with a fair degree of precision the seasonal patterns, arrivial and departure dates - otherwise known as phenology - and status of the species of birds that occur at La Cassinazza.
Up to now, 200 species have been recorded at La Cassinazza, with an additional six species for which a wild origin can be ruled out.
The complete checklist of all the species that have been recorded is available in PDF

The various phenologies can be broken down into a few categories, which define each species' status. For the birds of La Cassinazza, we use the following eight status categories:

  1. residents
  2. non-breeding residents
  3. breeding summer visitors
  4. non-breeding summer visitors
